Australia partner visa

The Australia partner visa allows a partner or spouse of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to enter and live in Australia. The partner visa includes two stages – temporary and permanent.

The temporary visa (subclass 820/309) allows the partner to enter Australia and live with their Australian partner for up to two years while the permanent partner visa (subclass 801/100) is being processed. Once the permanent partner visa is granted, the partner can live in Australia permanently.

Prospective Marriage visa subclass 300

The Australia Partner visa Subclass 300, also known as the Prospective Marriage visa, is intended for individuals who are engaged to an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen and are planning to marry within nine months of arriving in Australia. This visa allows the applicant to enter Australia and stay for up to nine months, during which they must match their fiance and apply for a permanent partner visa.

This visa is for partners of Australian citizens or permanent residents who reside outside Australia. The temporary visa (subclass 309) allows the partner to enter Australia while the permanent visa (subclass 100) is being processed.
